A place to stabilize.

WHO WE HELP

For people in crisis who need more than an ER visit — but not a hospital admission.

RCSU is a short term residential alternative for adults who are in acute psychiatric distress but do not require inpatient hospitalization. It gives someone a safe, structured place to stabilize around the clock while a clear discharge plan comes together.

Acute Psychiatric Crisis

Individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, severe emotional distress, or an acute worsening of mental illness requiring 24/7 stabilization in a structured, non-hospital setting.

Transition & Medication Stabilization

Individuals stepping down from inpatient psychiatric care or requiring medication initiation, adjustment, or stabilization before safely returning to the community.

Individuals who can be safely diverted from the emergency department or who are experiencing a mental health crisis complicated by substance use, requiring integrated stabilization and treatment.

ADMISSIONS

Four steps to admission

Beds are assessed and assigned around the clock — most admissions happen the same day.

01

Call our crisis line

You, a family member, mobile crisis team, or ER can call directly — no prior authorization needed to start the screening.

02

Screening & bed assignment

A clinician screens for medical and psychiatric safety and confirms RCSU is the right level of care before a bed is assigned.

03

Admission & stabilization plan

On arrival, we build an individualized stabilization and safety plan around your diagnosis and immediate needs.

04

Discharge & next level of care

Before you leave, we coordinate your next step — IOP, outpatient therapy, or another appropriate setting.
